KVPY Course is nothing but Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana which is a scholarship program funded by the Department of Science and Technology. Even this Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is also a scholarship program which was founded to attract the student exceptionally with highly motivated careers for pursuing basic knowledge and skills. The main objective of the KVPY scholarship program is to identify the student’s talent and aptitude research which helps them to realize the academic encouragement to take up the research and to ensure the growth of the student’s mind to develop. The aim program of conducting this exam identifies the students as well talented and motivated to pursue their careers. In KVPY Course the questions may be 75% from Aptitude and 25% from the interview marks in all the streams. The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences such as B.Sc., B. Stat, Integrated M.Sc., and M.S in either Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, or Biology., initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and research career in science.
Students are selected for the scholarship based on the KVPY exam.
The objective of the program is to identify students with talent and aptitude for research; help them realize their academic potential; encourage them to take up research careers in science, and ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country.
Selection of the students is made from those studying in XI standard to 1st year of any undergraduate Program in Basic Sciences namely B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology having aptitude for scientific research.
- FELLOWSHIPS BASED ON TEST RESULTS
Based on the performance in the aptitude test, short-listed students are called for an interview which is the final stage of the selection procedure. For receiving a fellowship, both aptitude test and interview marks are considered.
Fellowships are provided up to the pre-Ph.D. level to the selected KVPY Fellows.
- The KVPY registration will start in the first week of July 2021.
- The last date to fill the KVPY 2021 application form will be in the last week of August 2021.
- IISc Bangalore will conduct the KVPY exam in the first week of November 2021, in online mode.
- This year, the KVPY selection process has been changed. Now, students will be selected based on aptitude test only.
- The exam will be held in online mode for a total of 100 marks with a duration of 3 hours.
- Students can expect the KVPY result 2021 in the third week of December 2021.
